Music is the divine way to tell beautiful, poetic things to the heart.
Pablo Casals
In addition to privately booked singing telegrams, Bay Country Chorus shared some "valentine love" to appreciative audiences at the Talbot Arts Council, Harris Teeter Supermarket, Shore Regional Hospital, Easton YMCA, Heartfields Assisted Living, Tidewater PT and Elizabeth Claire Salon.
for awarding a grant to The Bay Country Chorus, in recognition of the comfort & joy that our performances bring to elders and others on the Mid-Shore.
The Bay Country Chorus is the Easton Maryland Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and sings four-part harmony in the Barbershop style. The chorus has been entertaining throughout the mid-shore since 1995. The Bay Country Chorus provides a deep reservoir of musical arrangements including old standards, current popular tunes and doo wop. In July of 2020, the chorus celebrated 25 years of bringing music to the Mid-Shore region of the Delmarva Peninsula. Men and women of all ages are welcome to join the chorus. Stop in, at Brooklets Place, and observe one of our rehearsals to see if barbershop singing may be for you. For information, please call John Crovo, current president at 410-820-4761 or jcrovo@goeaston.net.
The Bay Country Chorus is pleased to welcome our new director,
Lesley Aaron. She recently relocated from Florida where she directed and performed for 13 years with Island Harmony, a barbershop group in the Florida Keys. Lesley holds a degree in music from Towson University with a piano and voice concentration. She currently teaches piano and does voice coaching in Easton. Her background is well suited to serve as director and Music VP of the chorus.
We are fortunate to have found an individual with Lesley's background. She brings a new energy and vitality to our group. Lesley will work individually with new members of the chorus to enhance their voices and learn songs from our current repertoire.
Our rewards come from the many smiling faces on our audience and the thank yous we rceive after a performance. Much of our singing is before seniors who might not be able to get out and enjoy live music. Quite simply, we bring the music to them. It is indeed a pleasure for our group to bring a little sunshine to these very special citizens.
Keep the Whole World Singing - why not join us?
We love to bring our audience into our performances.
At a recent performance at Bayleigh Chase Senior Living one of the residents, donned the shamrocks and helped us sing “Wild Irish Rose”.
Birthday greetings are always a part of our performance and an occasional sing along.
Join us and share in the fun and camaraderie.
We perform before festivals, community groups, businesses and senior centers. Many of these performances are free to organizers and attendees. We especially enjoy singing at facilities dealing with patients in rehab or dealing with dementia.
